About

Trent Rivers Trust Charity

Trent Rivers Trust is a registered charity. Our mission is:

  • To help wildlife thrive in and around our rivers, streams and wetlands
  • To reduce pollution entering our rivers and streams
  • To help people and communities connect and value their river and floodplain
  • To restore rivers streams and wetlands improving resilience to climate change

For over 20 years our team of conservation and restoration specialists has been delivering 200+ projects in the Trent catchment. As a registered charity we have reconnected and restored many miles of rivers, planted ten thousands of trees, educated thousands of people, worked with hundreds of farmers, businesses and landowners on river-friendly practices and continue to champion the rivers, brooks and streams that shape our communities.

We believe that at their very best, rivers in the Trent catchment are a source of life and joy. Wild, natural, healthy and accessible places to be cherished.

Whether you’re living close to a river, own adjacent land, enjoy our rivers on a swim, walk, paddle or an angling excursion, we believe that by working together, we can restore rivers that can be appreciated and loved by everyone. To achieve this, we work with local partners, communities and as part of the national Rivers Trust movement.

We use data, collaboration and a network of local contacts we have built for over 20 years, creating nature-based solutions to tackle the most pressing issues affecting our rivers.
